Content Tips for Buyer's Journey (Blogs and Videos)
When trying to come up with a topic for content (can be blog, video or images) one needs to think about where in the buyer's journey the content can fit.
There are three stages of buyer journey -
- Awareness - Here they might not be aware of the problem or the providers. This is the widest net that you can throw. For new accounts, it is essential to talk about topics of interest of the buyer to get in their feed. 50% of your efforts should be focused here when you are just starting out.
- Consideration - Here they are problem aware. So creating content that helps them make a choice is paramount. 25% of your efforts should be focused here. This is high intent content, CTA's should be properly embedded.
- Decision - Here give some sneak peek into your product, and talk about the product. This is product marketing. Now it can be plain documentation, or you also create a story around your product. If you are an entrepreneur you naturally gravitate towards this type of content. A founder and top management should participate in this type of content and 25% of your effort should be focused here.
Top of Funnel
Awareness
Focuses on broad topics. At this stage, your audience is looking for educational content to solve a high-level problem or answer a question, not to make a purchase.

- High-Level Ebooks
Middle of Funnel
Consideration
Evaluative content that talks about other products. The audience understands their problem and is actively comparing potential solutions, alternatives, and vendors.

- Expert Webinars
Bottom of Funnel
Decision
Very product-focused content. The audience is ready to buy and needs concrete proof, pricing details, and that final push to choose your specific offering.
